Load-Calculated Sizing — Scheduled Around Trading

Commercial AC Replacement
in Longview, TX

Most commercial equipment gets replaced in the worst possible circumstances: mid-August, after a failure, at whatever price is available that week. Replacement done as a planned decision costs less, sizes correctly and happens at a time that does not close you.

Commercial Replacement Work

Removing and replacing commercial cooling equipment is a logistics job as much as a mechanical one. The mechanical part is the easier half.

📏

Load Calculation & Sizing

Sized for the building as it is used now, not matched to whatever tonnage was installed decades ago for a different tenant and a different layout.

  • Assessed for Current Use
  • Occupancy & Load Changes

Split System Replacement

Commercial split equipment in suites, offices and retail units, including line set assessment rather than assumption.

Ductwork Assessment

New equipment on inadequate ductwork underperforms and everybody blames the equipment. We check before you buy, not after.

Staged Replacement Programmes

Where a building has several ageing units, replacing them over budget cycles beats replacing them all in one emergency year.

What Decides Whether a Replacement Performs

The equipment brand matters far less than the sizing, the ductwork and the commissioning. That is not a popular thing to say when selling equipment.

Why replacing like for like is usually wrong ▾

The tonnage on your roof was chosen for a building that may have had different occupancy, different lighting, different glazing and a different layout. Matching it is a decision made by whoever installed it decades ago, not an assessment of your building today. Oversizing produces short cycles, poor dehumidification in a humid climate and premature wear; undersizing produces complaints nobody can fix. We calculate rather than copy.

→

Replacement units rarely match the original footprint exactly, which means the existing roof curb needs adapting rather than replacing the whole opening. Done properly this is a fabricated adapter, correctly sealed and flashed. Done badly it is the source of roof leaks that get blamed on the roofer for years afterwards. We treat the roof penetration as part of the job rather than somebody else problem.

Packaged Units →

New equipment connected to ducts that were already restrictive will not deliver its rated performance, and the building will be no more comfortable than before. We test static pressure and assess leakage as part of quoting, and where the ductwork is the real constraint we tell you before you spend the money on equipment. It occasionally costs us the larger sale and it is still the right way round.

Ductwork Services →

Charge verified against measurement rather than gauge pressure alone, airflow measured, economizer proven to operate, controls configured deliberately rather than left at factory defaults. This is the least visible part of the job and the part that determines whether you get the efficiency you paid for. It is also the part most commonly skipped when a price looks unusually low.

Planned Replacement vs Emergency Replacement

The same equipment, two very different jobs.

Factor Planned After a Failure
Sizing Load calculated properly Whatever is available quickly
Scheduling Outside trading hours Immediately, whenever that is
Equipment choice Options and efficiency compared Limited to stock on hand
Ductwork issues Assessed and addressed Deferred, usually permanently
Cost Budgeted Unbudgeted, plus lost trading

How a Commercial Replacement Runs

Assessed, quoted in writing, installed outside your trading hours, commissioned before we leave.

1
Assessment and Load Calculation

The building as it is used now, including ductwork condition and any electrical constraints.

2
Written Proposal with Options

Equipment options and efficiency levels compared honestly, including what each will and will not change.

3
Scheduled and Coordinated

Crane, roof access and timing arranged around your business. Out of hours is normal, not an upcharge surprise.

4
Installed and Commissioned

Charge and airflow verified by measurement, controls configured, warranty registered, old equipment removed.

When Replacement Beats Another Repair

These are the situations where continuing to repair is usually the more expensive choice.

📅
The unit is past twelve to fifteen years Commercial equipment in this climate works hard. Past that age, repairs tend to arrive in sequence rather than isolation.
🧪
It runs an obsolete refrigerant Refrigerant cost and availability turn a routine leak repair into a decision about the unit itself.
💸
You have had three or more calls in two seasons The repair spend is quietly approaching replacement value, without any of the efficiency benefit.
🌡️
It never cooled the space properly If the original sizing was wrong, no repair will fix it. Replacement with a proper load calculation will.
📈
Energy costs are out of line with the building Older equipment at degraded efficiency is often the largest controllable cost in a commercial building.
🏗️
The building use has changed Added occupancy, a kitchen, server equipment or a remodel all change the load the equipment was chosen for.

What We Assess Before Quoting

📐
Actual cooling load for current use Occupancy, glazing, insulation and internal gains as the building is used today.
🏢
Roof curb, access and crane requirements Established up front so the schedule and the price are both real.
🌬️
Duct capacity, leakage and static pressure Because new equipment on restrictive ductwork disappoints everybody involved.
⚡
Electrical service and disconnects What the existing supply supports, and what the new equipment actually needs.

Why Businesses Choose Napps for Replacement

Sized properly, installed around your trading, commissioned rather than just connected.

  • 📏
Load Calculation, Not Tonnage Matching We size for the building as it is used now rather than copying a decision made decades ago.
  • ⏰
Installed Outside Trading Hours Nights and weekends are routine. Closing a business to change equipment is usually the more expensive option.
  • 🌬️
Honest About Your Ductwork If the ducts will limit the new equipment we say so before you buy it, not after it underperforms.

Commercial AC Replacement Questions

What building owners ask before committing to new equipment.

How much does commercial AC replacement cost in Longview? ▾

It depends on capacity, efficiency level, roof access and crane requirements, whether a curb adapter is needed, and any ductwork or electrical work involved. Anybody quoting firmly without seeing the roof is guessing. We assess, run the load calculation and give a fixed written price with genuine options compared rather than a single number.

A straightforward single-unit replacement is generally one day including the crane set and commissioning. Curb adaptation, ductwork or multiple units extend that. We give you a realistic schedule rather than an optimistic one, and we plan it around your trading hours as standard.

Almost always, yes. Out-of-hours and weekend installation is normal for our commercial work rather than an exception, because for most businesses the cost of closing during trading exceeds the difference in scheduling. We agree the timing when we quote so there are no surprises.

Usually not, unless they are the same age and all failing. Where a building has several units of staggered age, we assess each and help you prioritise by risk so replacement becomes a planned budget line over several cycles rather than one very expensive year.

Generally yes, but the honest answer depends on your ductwork, your controls and how the building is operated. Efficiency ratings are measured under ideal conditions. We tell you what we think you will actually see in your building, which is sometimes less than the brochure implies and occasionally more.

Yes. Replacement rarely arrives in a convenient budget month, so payment options are worth discussing as part of the decision rather than after it.
